Potty training, unfortunately, comes at a time in life when a child is learning to be more independent. Refusing to potty train can be simply frustrating, or it can have real health consequences if they chose to ?hold it? for long periods rather than use the potty. Remember to consult your paediatrician if resistance continues for a long period of time.

Rewarding your child is an appropriate step in the potty training process, and one that will possibly make your child less resistant. Have him or her help choose the prizes. For example, visit the local toy store and purchase some new items that your child may not have until he or she meets certain goals. You may also wish to talk to your child about what he or she cannot do without being potty trained (staying the night at grandma?s, going to school, visiting friends, etc). Motivation is the key to successful potty training.

Talk with your child if he or she is normally well behaved, but extremely resistant to potty training. Perhaps your child is scared of using a potty seat. Have him or her use, instead, a small potty chair and decorate this chair with stickers. Some children, for example, are scared of the flushing noise a larger toilet makes. Wait until your child leaves the room to flush, or have him or her flush the toilet themselves, both when they use it and at other time in the day, simple to get used to the idea. You may also wish to have your child watch while you, older siblings, and family members use the toilet to show your child that it is not scary.

Punishment is appropriate when your child knows that he or she is acting inappropriately. You can start by putting yourself in the buyer's shoes.

What does your house look like from the nearest kerbside? Will the buyer really want to walk up to your front door? Would more flowers help to draw them? Does the front porch and door look attractive, cared for and welcoming?

Now, (s)he is at the front door. Assuming an appointment has been made, the door will be open, and you will be hovering. You welcome him/her/them by name as you GO OUT OF THE DOOR. If this house belonged to them, they would not expect someone else to precede them through the door, so you get out of the way and let them go first. (If you are selling through an agent, make it clear that this procedure is to be followed. Many agents are not the experts they would have you believe.) In fact, the more time the buyer can safely spend on their own in the house, the better. As they go through the front door, their first, crucial decision is made. If that decision is 'yes' then it is so much easier for the following decisions to match the pattern.

You will have gathered by now that you are not going about this process in the same way that an agent would, so if you are using one you may need to give them a little re-education. And because it is so different from the way they are used to doing things, they could get huffy and start telling you that you should just leave it to their expertise. Be strong!

You are aiming to keep these potential buyers in their new house much longer than an agent would spend, and you will use every effort to make sure they do. Give them plenty of time to look around the property on their own, but when you get the opportunity get them chatting. Find out exactly what they are looking for and point out those parts of the house that match their needs. Ask questions, especially those that will get a 'yes' answer! (Did you know you can set up a habit of 'yes' if you go about it in this way?

That can be very useful when you get to that final 'YES'!) Ask about family; do you need to put more emphasis on the kindergarten or the retirement village where their mother is going to be living? More on the football stadium or the library? Golf course or movie theater? Offer coffee. Offer cookies (the baked kind, not the computer sort!) to the kids.

You already know that your home should be totally uncluttered. Can a backgame be too big? Can you have too many points back? Of course. Players have been cautioned not to let a backgame opponent get too many pieces back. However, it's ineffective to focus on how many pieces back is good or bad. Instead, look at the entire board. Whether more or fewer pieces back is bad or good depends on where they are, both players' forward structures, and the crucial timing of preparing a prime to be ready when the awaited shot finally comes.

At present, it is the most profitable segment for investment. During 2005, volumes increased by 5.5 percent while value appreciation was as high as 15 percent.

From 80s to 90s the company focused on undergarments. Even today Libertina and Liberty are still one of the major players in the lingerie market.

With the great triumph of Libertina and Liberty, other Indian companies also shifted into the lingerie markets. In the 70s Peter Pan from Dawn Mills entered in the market with lingerie styles of the West. The brand was popular amongst the Indian women, but two decades later it vanished from the market.

In 1971, VIP entered the men's underwear market with a big-bang and became the most talked about brand due to its advertisement featuring model Dalip Tahil. Since then VIP is a leading player in the men's and women's underwear market. But introducing Loveable in 1996 was a huge success as they brought in a foreign brand, but it was made in India. From 300 outlets in India they target to cross 1,000 outlets in three-five years. With all raw materials imported from Europe, Triumph is produced in Chennai and has gained a 50 per cent raise in sales since it came into the country. Though, Triumph is the only internationally managed brand, it also aims to satisfy Indian buyers and has the capability to source intelligent fabrics not offered in India. Triumph was the first to introduce moisturising fabrics with Aloe Vera and the one-piece bra which is produced by one piece of fabric. The sizes and styles are very particular to Indian consumers. Triumph which begun production in India in 1998 has been exporting to the USA before it came into the local market. With 80 per cent exports and 20 per cent local sales in India, Triumph adds new products and concepts for 5-10 styles each year.

You're moving! Join the club of Kids on the Move. Did you know that almost one in five families will move this year? That's a lot of packing, boxes, new schools, new rooms and new friends.
While moving can be exciting in a way, it can also be pretty stressful - for kids and their parents. Think of the whole thing as a kind of Moving Survivor show. You'll have a ton of stuff to do, but it'll be kind of fun if you think about it the right way. To start with, here are some tips for your Moving Survivor adventure:

1. There's good stuff and there's bad stuff.

Maybe your parents are finally going to let you have a dog. Or maybe you're going to get a room of your own. Or a pool. Or a new city to explore. There's almost always something good about moving, if you think hard enough. Take a sheet of paper and draw a line through the middle. Start to write down the good stuff and the bad stuff about moving. Your parents may not have a list on paper, but they have one in their heads. They know there's good and bad stuff about moving, too. Ask them to write their list, then you can compare notes and talk about it.

2. Make a scrapbook.

It can feel hard to leave behind people and places that you've learned to like. It helps to make a scrapbook of the things you're leaving behind. Take pictures of friends, your old school, your soccer team, your old room, the tree in the back yard... whatever you want to remember when you move away. Get friends to write notes beside their photos, or help you think up ideas for things to put in your scrapbook. Design a cool cover for your scrapbook, and a title -- like Our House on Oak Street. If your parents are really busy, take some photos or write down some things that you think they'll miss, too.

3. Start an address book.

If you don't already have an address book started, this is the time to get one. You can ask your parents to get the real, alphabetized ones, or you can use a small notebook. Get names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses for any of your friends. What's really fun is if your parents will let you have a goodbye party, because it's a great time to see everyone and get their addresses. Find out if any of your friends have MSN or some other messaging service. If you're old enough to use MSN, it's almost like talking to your friend standing right beside you. Make sure you write down the email addresses PERFECTLY.

4. Get rich; have a yard sale.

If your parents will let you, plan a yard sale to get rid of all the stuff that you and your parents don't want to take to the new place. Old toys, books, games, your old bike, furniture you don't want... it's unbelievable how much stuff is hanging around the house and garage. Your parents might even let you keep the money for anything that you clean up yourself. When you're getting stuff ready, if something is broken, you can still try to sell it, but you need to put a sign on that says what's broken. People will sometimes buy a busted VHS player because they know someone who can fix it. You never know. Make posters for your sale and put them up around the neighbourhood to tell people where and when your sale is. If stuff doesn't sell, you can give it away to a charity, or just put up a big sign that says FREE! at the end of the day for anything that's left. Some important advice: make sure your parents know what you're doing and that one of them can help on the day of the sale.

5. Find a club to join at your new place.

If you're used to taking karate, swim class or playing soccer at your old place, ask your parents to help you find a new club after you move. You'll still need to figure out which kids would be good friends, but at least you know that you like some of the same things. At your school, they might have an after-school program. That's another great way to find some new kids to hang out with. Before you know it, you'll be feeling right at home!

Does anyone understand unsold inventory index?

To help you follow the numbers, here are some helpful definitions:

Median price. An oft-cited indicator of the strength and direction of a housing market, a median price is the midpoint of all the prices of homes sold in a given area during a specified period. Midpoint means half the homes sold for higher prices and half the homes sold for lower prices. The median isn't the same as the average, which would be calculated by totaling all the prices and dividing by the number of prices. The median price can be affected over time by the characteristics and sizes of homes sold as well as price trends. For example, if the market shifts from starter homes to luxury mansions, the median price will increase even if homes are not appreciating in value.

Seasonally adjusted. Housing markets are naturally more active in the spring and summer months because people prefer to move during the longer warmer days and between school years. That pattern means it's difficult to make meaningful comparisons between results for different months or quarters of the same year. To overcome this hazard, economists statistically tweak the reported number of homes sold during various periods to reflect seasonal variations. This index, which indicates the pace of the market, is calculated by measuring how long it would take for all the homes currently on the market to be sold at the current rate of sales. A smaller index is a positive sign for sellers, while a higher number is good news for buyers.

Affordability index. An affordability index measures whether a typical family can qualify for a standard mortgage to purchase a typical home. A typical family is defined as one that earns the median income in a given area, and a typical home is defined as a median-priced single-family house in the same area. An index value of 100 means a median-income family has exactly the amount of income needed to purchase a median-priced home. A number higher than 100 means the family's income is more than adequate, while a number less than 100 means the typical family can't afford to buy the typical home.
